Egyptian squash star Omar Mosaad has booked his place in the 2015 World Championships final after beating his fellow countryman Tarek Momen 3-0 in the semifinals late on Saturday.

Mosaad, the world number six, needed 27 minutes to beat Momen 3-0, 11-5, 11-4, 11-8 to reach his first ever World Championships final.

"I think I did a great job today, I was 100 percent focused. I tried to not think too much about the potential final before I played today," Mosaad said after the game.

"I have to thank my coaches, my brother and also Islam Hany. They helped me with the tactics, told me to be calm, not to think about the final, they gave me good tips which worked," the Egyptian star added.

"This match against Tarek was a big chance for both Tarek and I. We’ve been playing since the juniors, we always played hard matches, and I wasn’t expecting anything different tonight."

The 27-year-old Mosaad will face world number three Gregory Gaultier of France on Sunday. Gaultier reached the final after beating world number 24 and former world number one, Englishman James Willstrop.

"Tomorrow I have the advantage that Shabana will be in my corner, so I’ll pick myself up and come back strong tomorrow. But I’ll just prepare as usual, stretching, massage with Hossam, like every day," Mosaad said.

"It’s a big achievement, yes, but I have another match to play tomorrow," the Egyptian squash star concluded.

Mosaad started the tournament by beating Farhan Zaman of Pakistan in the first round, then Nafizwan Adnan of Malaysia in the second; in the third round he defeated world number 14 Borja Golan of Spain.

His biggest victory was defeating world number four and fellow Egyptian Ramy Ashour in the quarterfinals.

Mosaad also made the US Open final earlier this season but placed as runner-up after losing to Gaultier 11-6, 11-3, 11-5.

"I'm feeling amazing. It’s the second time this season I’ve made a big final so I’m really happy," Mosaad said.

Thirteen Egyptian squash players started this year's World Championships, but Mosaad is the only one remaining after the elimination of the other Egyptian hopefuls, including title contender Mohamed El-Shorbagy in the third round.

The 2015 World Championships started on 13 November with the first qualifying round and will finish on 22 November.
