Squash: Egypt's El-Shorbagy loses world top ranking while Raneem still leads

Five Egyptian men in squash world top ten and another five in the women's

Egyptian squash hero Mohamed Elshorbagy lost his top spot in the world rankings after thirteen-months of dominating the position, being knocked out of place by Frenchman Gregory Gaultier.

Gaultier had the win of his career last week, lifting the 2015 Men’s World Championship title to top the Professional Squash Association Men’s World Rankings.

Gaultier, who is in the number one position for the fourth time in his career, defeated Egypt's Omar Mosaad in the final of the tournament that took place in Bellevue, Washington. Mosaad is now ranked number four in the world.

Englishman Nick Matthew fell to number three while Egyptian Ramy Ashour lost two places to become the world's sixth ranked player.

Another two Egyptians appeared in the top ten as Karim Abdel-Gawad moved into eighth position, ahead of number 10 ranked Takek Moemen.

In the women's rankings, Alexandria-born Raneem El-Welily has kept her world lead ahead of England's Laura Massaro and Malaysian Nicol David.

Another four women have appeared in the top 10 as Omneya Abdel-Kawy moved into fifth, Nour El-Sherbini to sixth, Nour El-Tayeb to seventh and Nouran Gohar to ninth spot.
