Algeria claimed their fourth successive win in the handball African Nations Cup group stage defeating Nigeria 31-23 on Tuesday, cementing their spot in the quarterfinals.
In their last game of the group stage, Algeria ended the first half with a tight 12-11 win before smashing their opponents in the second.
The North African team recovered from their opening defeat against hosts Egypt to defeat Gabon, Morocco, Cameroon and Nigeria respectively to earn their quarterfinals ticket. They are in second place in group A, after leaders Egypt.
Later on Tuesday, Cameroon will meet Gabon and Egypt will face Morocco. Meanwhile in group B, another three matches will be held; Congo v Libya, Tunisia v Angola and DR Congo v Kenya.
The best four teams from each group will compete in a knock-out quarterfinals stage.
