The Egyptian women's tennis team beat Finland 2-0 in a relegation play-off on Saturday to stay in Group II of the Fed Cup for the fourth straight year.
Dina Abu Habaga and Sandra Samir prevailed at Cairo’s Gezira club against Finland’s Milka-Emilia Pasanen and Mia Nicole Eklund as Egypt avoided a possible relegation to Group III.
Egypt set up a playoff meeting against Finland after finishing third in Pool B behind leader Austria and second-placed Bosnia.
The Egyptian team, which is ranked 65th in the world, is the only Arab country participating in the tournament's Europe/Africa Group II.
