Egyptian Mohamed Safwat defeated Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili in the Wimbledon qualifying round on Wednesday, keeping alive his hopes of earning a place in the grand slam tournament.
The 26-year-old came from behind in the third set to win 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 in one hour and 57 minutes.
Safwat will play a 5-set game against France's Tristan Lamasine Thursday in his last qualifying game in an attempt to make it into the first round for the main draw.
Safwat became the first Egyptian to win at this stage of Wimbledon since 1980 and the first Egyptian at a grand slam championship since 1998.
