A tourism ministry official said the Pharaons Rally, which will be covered by more than 40 television channels, will help promote tourism in Egypt.
The competition, which will feature 25 countries, will run from October 3-8.
“The race will take place in the Western Desert. It covers roughly around 2799 kilometers,” said Magdy Selim, head of the ministry’s domestic tourism sector.
“This year’s edition was boosted by the addition of new countries. It’s an achievement to increase the number of countries involved in the rally.
“It will help promote tourism in Egypt as more than 36 worldwide television channels and other Egyptian channels will cover the event,” he added.
The Pharaons Rally is a car, bike and truck race which follows up the “Rallye des Pharaons” legendary competition. It is inserted in the F.I.M. World Championship as well as in the F.I.A. World Cup of Cross Country Rallies.
