Egypt's karate duo Giana Farouk and Omar Abdel Rahman won on Saturday gold and silver medals respectively at the 2016 World Championships in Linz, Austria.
In the female kumite-61 kg's, the 36-year-old Farouk defeated Lucie Ignace of France in the final to clinch the gold medal; her sixth successive one at the World Championships since 2011.
She has claimed gold or silver medals in all her appearances in major international events since 2013.
In the male kumite U-75 kg's, Abdel Rahman won the silver medal after losing to Rafael Aghayev of Azerbaijan in the final.
