Gregory Gaultier won his first ever Qatar classic title after beating Englishman James Willstrop 3-1 (11/8, 11/7, 2/11 and 11/8) in the final on Friday.

The Frenchman who delivered one of his finest performance, including an impressive semi-final victory over world number three Karim Darwish, claimed his first major title in over two years.

In the women contest, World number one Nicol David confirmed her supremacy with a quick and easy 3-0 win (11/2, 11/7 and 11/3) over Madeline Perry from Ireland to clinch her fifth Qatar classic title.
