Squash: Elshorbagy, Ashour and El-Sherbini carry Egypt hopes in Allam British Open semis

Egypt is close to keeping both the men and women titles of the Allam British Open as squash stars Mohamed Elshorbagy, Ramy Ashour and Nour El-Sherbini will be competing in the semi-final matches on Saturday.

Defending champion and world number one Elshorbagy will be facing England's Nick Matthew, after his Friday 3-2 victory over countryman Ali Farag 3-2 in the quarters.

World number five Ramy Ashour has reached the semis, where he will take on Gregory Gaultier of France, after Friday's 3-2 victory over Egypt's Mohamed Abouelghar.

At the women's contest, defending champion Nour El-Sherbini will be facing England's Laura Massaro in the semis after thrashing England's Emily Whitlock 3-0 in the quarters.

The tournament final is set to be played on Sunday.
