Frenchman Gregory Gaultier has beaten world number 5 Marwan Elshorbagy of Egypt in straight games to reach the Gouna Squash Open final on Thursday.
The new world number one needed only 51 minutes to outclass Elshorbagy 12/10, 11/4 and 11/4, after the latter had created one of the biggest surprises of the tournament by eliminating his older brother Mohamed – who reigned in the top ranking for almost two years – in the quarter finals.
Gaultier will face the winner between Egyptian world champion Karim Abdel-Gawad and Egyptian Fares El-Dessouki, who will face off later today.
