Weightlifting: Egypt's Rehab Ahmed clinches gold medal at World Para Powerlifting Championships

Egyptian weightlifter Rehab Ahmed clinched the gold medal in the 2017 World Para Powerlifting Championships in Mexico on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old Rehab was competing at the Women's Up to 50kg competition, where she lifted 113 kilos, six ahead of second-placed and silver medal winner Thi Linh Phuong of Vietnam.

Besra Duman of Turkey got the bronze medal after lifting 106 Kilos.

Earlier this week, Egypt attained other great achievements in weightlifting.

Weightlifter Sara Samir clinched the gold medal at the International World Federation (IWF) championships in Anaheim, California on Sunday.

The 2016 Olympic bronze medalist lifted 136kg in the clean and jerk, failing in the three snatch attempts.

A day earlier, Mohamed Ihab gave the country its first gold medal in 66 years, winning three golds at the World Championship.
