Eleven squash players will be representing Egypt at the World Championship individuals round of 16 matches, to be played on Tuesday and Wednesday in Manchester.
Champions Karim Abdel Gawad and Nour El-Sherbini kept their title defence campaigns alive, reaching the round of 16 on Monday. El-Sherbini is aiming to win a third consecutive accolade, having triumphed in 2015 and 2016 in Malaysia and Egypt respectively.
For the men, Mohamed Elshorbagy, Ali Farag, Marwan Elshorbagy, Rami Ashour and Tarek Momen also went through to the next round.
Meanwhile, the women's contest saw Raneem El-Welily, Nouran Gohar, Nour El-Tayeb and Salma Hany progressing alongside El-Sherbini.
There will be an all-Egyptian early final in the round of 16 between world number two Mohamed Elshorbagy and three-time winner Ramy Ashour.
ElShorbagy, winner of two British Open titles, is eyeing his maiden World Championship triumph, having lost to compatriot Ashour in the 2012 and 2014 finals.
