Egypt's Mohamed ElShorbagy won his first World Championship title after beating his younger brother Marwan 3-2 in an exciting final in Manchester on Sunday.

The World number 3 fought hard in a thriller to win the final (11-5, 9-11, 11-7, 8-11, 11-6) in a 71-minute game. Both men hugged each other following the match amid cheers from the crowd in Manchester.

Mohamed ElShorbagy, 26, reached the final twice in 2012 and 2014 but lost to compatriot Ramy Ashour in both finals.

He is now in course to regain his position on the top of the PSA ranking after claiming the World title.

In the Women's tournament, Egypt's Raneem El Welily made history after winning her first world title earlier in the day.

Egypt has also won the team's tournament in France earlier this month.
