The Egyptian Speedball Federation, headed by Amr Hussein, has signed a protocol of cooperation with its American counterpart, with both sides looking to make the most of the new collaboration.

Egypt's Sports Minister Ashraf Sobhi attended the signing of the protocol along with Waleid Hanna, the president of the American Speedball Federation.

The terms of the protocol include holding training camps in both countries and "transmitting Egyptian experience to the American side", given Egypt's superiority in the sport.

Sobhi pointed out that the protocol of cooperation with the American Speedball Federation would help spread the sport globally. Speedball, a racquet sport, was invented in Egypt in 1961.

"The coming period will witness the establishment of an Egyptian brand of tools and equipment for speedball," Sobhi added.
