Squash: Darwish beats Azlan Iskandar in World Series finals

Egyptian player Karim Darwish claims a 2-1 win over Malaysia’s Azlan Iskandar in World Series finals, while his compatriot Mohamed El-Shorbagy loses 2-0 to new world number one James Willstrop

World number five, Karim Darwish clinched his first victory in World series finals after defeating  Azlan Iskandar 2-1 (11-4, 8-11, 11-4) on Thursday.

Mohamed El-Shorbagy – who defeated Iskandar in the first day on Wednesday - wasn’t that fortunate as he lost to James Willstrop 2-0 (11-6, 11-7).

The English player earned his second victory in the competition after beating Karim Darwish 2-0 (11-6, 11-5) on Wednesday.

In the other group four-time World champion Amr Shabana from Egypt defeated Peter Barker 2-1 (7-11, 11-8, 11-7) in the group’s opener on Wednesday.
