Egyptian squash star Mohamed Elshorbagy has claimed the 2018 Hong Kong title after beating his countryman Ali Farag 3-0 in the tournament's final game on Sunday.
This is the fourth time for Elshorbagy to win the Hong Kong title in the last five years.
World number one Elshorbagy needed 39 minutes to beat world number two Farag 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 11-7).
"I’m really pleased to be able to come here and play my best squash," Elshorbagy was quoted as saying on the tournament's official website.
"It’s always great when it all comes together," he added.
"I’m really proud of my performance, not to take anything away from Ali, I have nothing but respect for him."
"He came to the tour later than all of us, he came up the rankings very fast. Very few people can do what he did and he’s coming after me, but I’m trying to hold him back a little bit."
“We’ve played twice already this season, he beat me once and now I’ve beaten him. I’m sure we will have many more battles and compete in more finals.”
Meanwhile, Egyptian star and world number two Raneem El-Welily lost the Hong Kong title to Joelle King of New Zealand.
The world number five Joelle King needed 48 minutes to beat El-Welily 3-0 (11-4, 12-10, 19-17).
