Four Egyptians have booked their places in the third round of the PSA Women's World Championship on Friday that takes place in Egypt from 24 October to 1 November.
World number one Raneem El-Welily secured her seat in the third round round after beating USA's Olivia Blatchford 3-0, to face England's world No. 11 Alison Waters on Sunday.
Salma Hany, world No. 13 also achieved a 3-0 victory over the South African player Alexandra Fuller in the second round, to set up a clash with her fellow citizen Nour El-Tayeb, world No. 5 also on Sunday. El-Tayeb qualified to the 3rd round after beating another Egyptian Rowan El-Araby 3-1 in the second day of the international tournament.
"Alex had an amazing win yesterday. She is a very good player and has been pushing the top players, so I had to be prepared for this match," said Hany afterwards her victory.
Nouran Gohar, World No. 4 demonstrated her Belgium's opponent Nele Gilis, claiming 3-0 win (11-1, 11-5, 11-5).
The PSA Women's World Championship, that kicked off in Egypt on Thursday at the Giza Pyramids, provide a beautiful backdrop as athletes compete for prizes worth a total of $430,000.
Meanwhile, in the CIB Egyptian Squash Open only two Egyptians achieved victory on Friday's matches, leaving eight Egyptians suffered the loss in the first round of the tournament.
Mostafa Asal defeated Scotland's Alan Clyne 3-1, while Mazen Hesham secured his seat in the second round by defeating his countryman Karim Ali 3-0.
Seven Egyptians will play in the second round on Saturday alongside Asal and Hesham who booked their places on Friday.
CIB Egyptian Squash Open started on Friday at the the Giza Pyramids, and will last until 1 November.
The CIB tournament provide prizes worth a total of $185,000.
