Zamalek players scuffle with counterparts from Libya's Al-Jazeera following White Knights' 30-22 win in Thursday's African Cup of Cup Winners

Zamalek eased past Libyan Al-Jazeera 30-22 in the ongoing African Cup of Cup Winners on Thursday to reach the continental competition's semi-finals.

The first half saw some difficulties for the defending champions, who managed to end it with a narrow lead – 14-13 – before completely dominating the second half, which ended with an eight-goal difference of 30-22.

In an unexpected turn following the game, Al-Jazeera players briefly scuffled with their Zamalek counterparts. At least four of the latter were reportedly injured in the melee – Hassan Youssri, Mohamed Mamdouh Hashem, Mohamed Ali and Hamada El-Rouby – and are currently receiving medical treatment in hospital.

Zamalek, who lifted their third successive African Super Cup title last Thursday, are looking to keep their title as African Cup of Cup Winners so as to collect two titles within ten days.
