Swimming: Egypt’s Farida Osman sets African record in 100m Butterfly

Egyptian swimmer Farida Osman broke the 100-meter butterfly African record at the ongoing World Championship in Budapest with a time of 57.66 seconds on Sunday.

Osman, who reached the final for the first time in her career, finished seventh in the final course.

She eclipsed the record set by South Africa's Erin Gallagher in 2019 with 57.67 seconds in South Africa.   

Osman, who won the bronze medal in the 50m butterfly in the two previous editions of the World Championships, will feature in the 50m event in Budapest on 23 June before playing the 50m freestyle one day later.
