The Pharaohs, who had already secured their place in the quarter-finals before the game, finished second in their group in the main round with eight points, just one point behind leaders Denmark.

They will face hosts Sweden on Wednesday as the Pharaohs are looking to reach the semi-final for the first time since 2001, when they finished fourth in France.

The Egyptian side made a poor start of the game giving the chance to Denmark to head to the locker-room with a comfortable five goals lead 17-12.

Denmark keeper Landin Jacobsen played a big part in that as had made 7 saves out of 14 shots in the early stages of the game.

In the second half, the defending champions kept their superiority to win the game 30-25.

Denmark's Simon Pytlick has been named Man of the Match after scoring 8 goals.

Denmark will play Hungary on Wednesday.
