The BAL is a collaboration between the National Basketball Association NBA and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) to promote the NBA league outside North America.

The Egyptian champions put on impressive performances in the qualifying rounds.

In the quarterfinals, Ahly outclassed hosts Energy Group (REG) 94-77

And in the semifinals, in a thriller that went down to the wires, Ahly beat Stade Malien of Mali 78-73.

The win in Rawanda makes Ahly the second Egyptian side to win the BAL in just three years of existence after Zamalek won the inaugural edition, which was also held in Rwanda, in 2021.

The BAL title secures a place for the Egyptian side in the FIBA World Cup which will be held in Singapore in September.
