The golden butterfly achieved a time of 25.74 seconds to finish sixth in the semi-finals and secure her spot in the final.

Her impressive track record includes her personal best of 25.38 seconds in the same event at the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest, which also stands as the best African record in this event.

Osman is one of the favorites to win a medal in the 50m butterfly final on Sunday, 30 July at 14:02.

It is worth noting that Farida Osman was previously crowned with two World Championship bronzes in 2017 in Hungary and 2019 in South Korea. She finished fourth at the last World Championships held in Hungary last summer.
