Speaking to the Voice of Bodybuilding YouTube channel, Big Ramy stated that he made this decision after consulting with his team and emphasized that taking a break at this point would be more beneficial for him.

"We are working towards improving ourselves for future shows, so I believe it is the best choice for me right now," he expressed.

Explaining the reasons behind his withdrawal, Big Ramy shared, "I need to ensure that my body does not encounter any issues during my preparations. I have been dealing with elbow inflammation for quite some time, and my doctor advised me to take a rest in order to make a better comeback."

This year’s edition of the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding competition is scheduled to take place 2-5 November at the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, USA.

The 39-year-old bodybuilding sensation fell short of securing his third consecutive Mr. Olympia title in 2022 after losing to Iranian athlete Hadi Choopan.

Following his victories in 2020 and 2021, Big Ramy became the first non-American to claim the Mr. Olympia title since British champion Dorian Yates in 1997.
