Radwan lifted 117kg in her first attempt and 121kg in her second, clinching the gold. Despite failing to lift 122kg on her third attempt, her performance was enough to surpass her Turkish competitor, Besra Duman, who managed 113kg but missed two subsequent attempts at 118kg and 122kg.
This win marks Radwan’s third Paralympic medal, adding to her two silver medals from the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
She had also carried Egypt’s flag at the opening ceremony alongside rowing champion Ali El-Zeinni.
Radwan's victory brought Egypt’s total medal count at the Paris Paralympics to two. Earlier in the day, Mohamed El-Minyawi won gold in the men’s 59kg weightlifting event.
The 25-year-old dominated the competition, lifting 194kg in his first attempt and 198kg in his second.
He sealed the victory by lifting 201kg in the final round, edging out China’s top contender by just one kilogram.
Elmenyawy's triumph marked a historic moment for Egyptian Paralympic sports, enhancing the nation's standing at the games.
