The Egyptian Handball Association (EHA) has decided to cancel the current national league and direct its focus into organising the Cup championship. The EHA intends to hold only one handball competition this year due to critical circumstances facing the country. This was agreed to on Monday by EHA President Hady Fahmy and representatives from all league clubs following a meeting in which they discussed the matter.

It has also been decided that the Cup champion will represent Egypt in the African Champions league and the Arab Tournament while the runner up will participate in the African Cup.

“We have assigned a committee in the EHA to schedule the cup games in a way that assures equality between all clubs in the competition and to support the national team,” Hady Fahmy announced.
