World triple jump champion Teddy Tamgho of France has had an operation after fracturing his left shinbone in a training session.
Tamgho was hurt Wednesday.
The French Athletics Federation says the operation went well. A nail was implanted to stabilize the bone, which was further reinforced with a bone graft.
The FFA did not say how long the 24-year-old Tamgho would be sidelined.
