- The 2023 edition of AFCON, hosted by Côte d’Ivoire, was the most far-reaching edition in the tournament’s history as it attracted almost 2 billion viewers across the world.

- Ticket sales and fan engagement also hit new highs, with ticketing revenues increased by 800 percent in 2023 compared to the previous edition, and much stronger online impressions and video views recorded

- The tournament will be staged every four years following an edition planned for 2028 in a major change to what is currently a biennial showpiece.
