On Thursday, 1 March, Minister of Culture Ines Abdel-Dayem opened the new tale-telling drama play Ahwal Shakhseya (Personal Affairs) at Malak Opera Theatre in Cairo.

The play is a Youth Theatre production about four women and their experiences of suffering that transformed them into statues, hitting chords on the difficulties of women in society.

Among attendees were director of the National Theatre House Ismail Mokhtar, director of the Youth Theatre company Adel Hassan, and a number of theatre executives and critics.

The production features Abeer Al-Toukhy, Nada Afifi, Lamiaa Gaafar and Ramaj, with décor and costumes by Ahmed Aslman, music by Hazem Al-Kafrawy, written by Maysara Salaheddin, and directed by Ashraf Hosny.
