Russian Cultural Centre in Cairo gives stage to Egypt's young violinists

Students of Marlis Yuniskhanov will perform the works of Tchaikovsky, Paganini, Brahms, Vivaldi and others

The Russian Cultural Centre in Cairo will hold a musical celebration on 2 April at the Tchaikovsky Theatre for the students of Cairo Conservatoire professor and violinist from Uzbekistan, Marlis Yuniskhanov.

The concert programme includes works by the likes of Tchaikovsky, Paganini, Kovalevsky, Brahms, Sates, Sarasota, Vinnyevsky and Vivaldi.

Among the evening's performers are Jana Samer, Ziyad Samer, Salma Mamdouh and Ebeida Ali, who will be accompanied by David Hales on piano, all under the supervision of Yuniskhanov, who has been working in Cairo for 21 years.

Many of Yuniskhanov's students have gone on to perform in the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, as well as orchestras in Berlin and the United States.

A number of his students have participated in the Moscow TV International Music Compeition (NSA), in which several young Egyptian musicians have reached the competition's finals.
