The Egyptian embassy in Belgrade hosted a ceremony at its headquarters on Sunday 3 June honouring Serbian schools who partiicipated in the competition “Egypt In The Eyes Of The Children Of The World.”
Ambassador Amr Aljowaily handed out prizes to 17 competitors from the Miutinovi and Mladost schools, who won five gold medals, three silver medals, and nine certificates of appreciation from the Egyptian Ministry of Culture. Teachers and supervisors of the winning schools were also acknowledged with Egyptian souvenirs.
Aljowaily congratulated the winning children, praising their work which reflected their creative vision of Egypt's history and civilisation.
“You reflect the future vision of Egyptian-Serbian relations, which complements the efforts of the embassy in documenting the history of relations between the two countries,” he said.
Aljowaily urged representatives of the participating schools to encourage students to participate in the upcoming competitions entitled "Egypt in the Eyes of the Children of the World 2018”, and a photography contest, which aims to encourage children to express themselves by observing nature, people and life through photography; as well as a “handmade games competition”, which seeks to discover talented children and develop their creative skills.
He also encouraged the participating children to focus on celebrating 110 years of diplomatic relations between Egypt and Serbia as a general theme for the competitions.
