French embassy holds concert with proceeds going to develop Assiut villages

French Ambassador to Egypt Stéphane Romatet hosted a concert at a Cairo hotel on Thursday, where around 100 children from the French schools of Cairo performed national songs in French for the city's French community.

During the event, Romatet stressed the depth of Egyptian-French relations in various cultural, scientific and commercial fields and disclosed that the revenues of the ceremony will be used to develop services such as drinking water and education in villages in Assiut governorate.

Present at the ceremony were Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali and Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla, as well as local businessmen and other ambassadors to Egypt.

The ceremony was organised under the supervision of Deputy Consul of France in Cairo Regin Prato.

Also there was French economic chancellor to Carrefour Majid Al Futtaim Herve Majidier, who is also a board member of the French University of Egypt and the Egypt Food Export Council, as well as the co-president of the French Chamber of Commerce in Egypt.

The ceremony ended with a fashion show of the traditional costumes of the peoples of the African continent.
