Cairo's Salaheddin Citadel was lit up in red on 28 January as part of a celebration of the 2019 Chinese Spring Festival.
The event was attended by director-general of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Cairo and cultural counsellor of the Chinese embassy Shi Yuewen, as well as China's deputy ambassador Liu Yongfeng.
Also attending were Minister of Tourism Rania Al-Mashat, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Mustafa Waziri, chairman of the board of the Sound and Light Company Sameh Saad, MP Mohamed El-Massoud, and head of the Internal Tourism Sector Azza Khalil.

The event featured a joint musical performance by four musicians from the Symphony Orchestra of the Egyptian Academy as well as four soloists from China's Zheng Jiang Orchestra.
The musicians collaborated to perform Antonio Vivaldi's masterpiece The Four Seasons.
