Ministers and artists open Ahmed Shiha exhibition

The exhibition showcases about 50 paintings through which the artist expressed his vision of life in Egypt using a bright and daring palette of colours

Abdel-Hakim Gamal Abdel Nasser, son of the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser, inaugurated a retrospective exhibition of paintings by renowned visual artist Ahmed Shiha at Horizon One Hall located in the Museum of Mahmoud Khalil overlooking the Nile in Giza, 17 March.

Attending the inauguration was an array of luminaries, including head of the Fine Arts Sector Khaled Sorour, curator of the exhibition and director of Horizon One Hall Ihab Al-Labban, director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Mustafa El-Fiky, former Minister of Culture Saber Arab, together with Shiha’s daughters, actors Hala, Hana, Maya and Rasha.

Actor Ezzat Al-Alayli, artist Medhat Saleh, UN expert Nihal Fahmy, founder of Picasso Gallery Ibrahim Picasso, visual artists Ibrahim Ghazala, Nahed Shaker, Mustafa Rahma and Iman Atef were also present.

The exhibition showcases about 50 paintings of different sizes through which the artist expressed his vision of life in Egypt, "mother of the world," using a bright and daring palette of colours.

The exhibition will remain open until 7 April.
