Port Said named the capital of Egyptian Culture in 2020

The minister of culture and Port Said governor pursue the increase of cultural and artistic activities in the governorate and the agenda of selecting Port Said as the capital of Egyptian Culture in 2020

The Minister of Culture Ines Abdel-Dayem met with Major General Adel El-Ghadban, governor of Port Said, and head of the General Organisation of Cultural Palaces Ahmed Awad on 10 December, to discuss the agenda of the cultural and artistic programme designed to celebrate naming Port Said the capital of Egyptian Culture in 2020.
 
The meeting focused on the inauguration of a permanent outlet for the ministry's publications. Abdel-Dayem and El-Ghadban discussed means to promote and increase cultural and creative activities and the mechanisms of discovering and developing talents in the governorate through the Talent Development Centre at the Port Said Cultural Palace. 
 
The meeting also dealt with the opening of a permanent outlet for the ministry’s publications in Al-Manzala Lake as well as holding artistic and cultural initiatives at 14 theatres in Port Said and supporting the "Culture Outside Walls" initiative at Port Said's parks and public gardens.
