Russia based Egyptian fine Artist Hala Abdel-Fattah has been awarded the gold medal from the Union of Creators of Russian Artists for her rich contribution to spreading national culture

Moscow hosted Abdel-Fattah's "Hymn of the Sun" exhibition, which was inspired by ancient Pharaonic civilisation.

The inauguration took place in one of Moscow’s libraries as part of the efforts made to break the isolation barrier imposed by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, in the presence of artist and President of the International Academy of Culture and Arts Peter Stronsky, Alexander Beglov — from the Union of Creators of Russian Artists — in addition to a group of Russian fine artists and public figures.

The opening ceremony featured a song entitled ‘The Winds of Egypt’, performed by the artist's sister Heba Abdel-Fattah, the well-known singer and former ballet dancer at the Russian Bolshoi Theatre.

Alongside being awarded a gold medal for her art, Abdel-Fattah was also awarded a special diploma from the International Academy of Culture and Arts, of which she was an honorary member for several years.

Russian Artist Alexander Ivanovich granted her a picture in which she appears against a background of ancient Egyptian inscriptions, one of the masterpieces of her distant homeland.

It is worth noting that Abdel-Fattah, a graduate of the Moscow State Institute of Academic Arts, was born in Moscow after her parents' transfer from Egypt in 1968 as part of the educational mission to the Soviet Union. All her family members are involved in art, and their activities have become an amazing "cultural bridge" between Russia and Egypt.

Her father is the documentary cinematographer Ahmed Abdel-Fattah, while her mother is Nadia Abdel-Malek, a graduate of the Ballet Institute in Cairo, and her sister, Heba, was the first Egyptian ballerina to join the famous Bolshoi Theatre.

Interestingly, Abdel-Fattah is preparing to hold an exhibition in Cairo in the days to come, in coordination with the Federal Agency for International Humanitarian Cooperation, Commonwealth, and Expatriate Affairs and the Russian Cultural Centre in Cairo.
