Present were members of the Mexican community in Egypt and friends of the embassy.
"It's a pleasure to have you all this evening to celebrate another edition of the Day of the Dead. Any excuse to receive the Mexican community and dear friends of the Egyptian society and Diplomatic Corp is always an honor for us. Even more when the reason to have you is to celebrate of one of our oldest and most iconic traditions in Mexico, the Day of the Dead, a celebration of life honoring our dearly departed," ambassador Tripp said at the event.
This celebration is rooted in Mexico’s pre-Hispanic era, but merged into the Catholic tradition after the Spanish conquest.

"For more than six centuries this celebration has been present in Mexico, not only as a moment to honour and remember our loved ones who passed away, but also as an appropriate time to gather with family and friends, as we are doing right now," the ambassador said.
