Indian ambassador Ajit Gupte with Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education Akram Mohamed at the opening of Glimpses of India exhibition
Over 100 paintings depicting Egyptian and Indian civilizations were showcased in the "Glimpses of India" exhibition organized by the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture, Embassy of India, and the Ministry of Education, with the support of the Cairo Opera House.
During the exhibition's opening ceremony, Ambassador Gupte expressed his happiness at the high level of the artworks displayed in the exhibition, which showcased the manifestations of life and friendship that linked the peoples of India and Egypt.
He also highlighted that the exhibition aimed to strengthen cultural ties and people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
“The event aims to develop stronger cultural ties and people-to-people contacts between the two friendly countries, India and Egypt”, he said.
Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education Akram Mohamed expressed his gratitude for the continuous cooperation between the Embassy of India and his ministry in organizing the "Glimpses of India" competition among school students across Egypt for the past 26 years.
This exhibition was the first of its kind to be organized for the art education teachers by the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture in Cairo.
The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of art education teachers.
