Moscow Conservatory students perform on Nile River banks in Egypt

The Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Museum in Zamalek hosted a concert for the Moscow Conservatory students who performed on the banks of the Nile River as part of the Rising Stars project on 2 October.

The visit comes within the framework of the cultural exchange between Egypt and Russia.

The students performed in several concerts across Egypt, including at the Alexandria Opera House on 3 October and at the Cairo Opera House's Small Theatre on the evening of 4 October.   

Russian ambassador to Egypt Georgiy Borisenko opened the celebration with a welcoming speech to the Russian artists who belong to one of the most prestigious music institutes in the world.

Ambassador of Belarus Sergey Terentyev, parliament member Mohamed Abul-Enein, Chairman of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association Ibrahim Kamel, Minister Plenipotentiary of the Russian Embassy Yuri Matveyev, Director of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Cooperation Ambassador Ezzat Saad, and Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt Marat Gatin attended the concert. 

 

Moreover, the President of the Egyptian Association of Graduates of the Russian and Soviet Universities Sherif Gad, the Secretary General of the association Fathy Toghan, several graduates of the Russian University in Egypt, members of the Russian embassy, ​​and Director of the Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Museum Saleh Hamed were also present in the concert.

The Moscow Conservatory quartet featured Nonna Liparteliani (clarinet), Vladimir Vishnevsky (piano), Lada Merkuleva (soprano), and Alexander Poltoratsky (violin), who excellently performed pieces by great Russian musicians.
