Ambassador Toderean commenced her visit by meeting with Alexandria Governor Ahmed Khaled Hassan Said.
Their discussions focused on enhancing dialogue between Alexandria and various Romanian cities.
They also emphasized fostering closer cooperation in economic, educational, and tourism sectors, including city-level partnerships, knowledge exchange, and new investment opportunities.
The ambassador highlighted both economies' strengths and Alexandria's strategic geographical and industrial position within the Egyptian economy as key factors for developing concrete regional partnerships with Romanian authorities.

Moreover, Toderean engaged with local business leaders during her meeting with Mohamed Mehrem, the Alexandria Business Association (ABA) vice president, and Haitham El-Kayar, secretary general of the ABA.
The Romanian ambassador, accompanied by economic counsellor George Petrusan, promoted Romania's investment opportunities and discussed ways to integrate these with Alexandria's business community.
They identified key sectors for collaboration, with B2B contacts established at local levels through the ABA.
The ambassador also underscored Romania's favourable investment climate, its strategic position within the European market, and the incentives available for foreign investors.
She cited recent joint ventures between Romania and Egypt as examples, encouraging ABA members to explore energy, agriculture, IT, and construction opportunities.
Furthermore, Ambassador Toderean visited the prestigious Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT), where she met its president, Professor Ismail Abdel-Ghaffar Ismail Farag.
Their fruitful discussion revolved around potential academic collaborations between AASTMT and Romanian universities.
The ambassador toured AASTMT’s advanced ship simulator and various medical, technological, and industrial labs, gaining insights into its maritime training programmes.
She also visited the Faculties of Pharmacy and Engineering, explored their state-of-the-art facilities, and discussed future cooperation opportunities with Romanian counterparts.
Additionally, she met with Professor Abdel-Aziz Konsowa, the president of Alexandria University, to discuss expanding educational cooperation between Romania and Egypt.
"Alexandria University is recognized as one of Egypt's largest and most prestigious universities. It plays a critical role in research, education, and innovation, making it a vital partner for collaboration with Romanian institutions," Konsowa said.
Toderean also met with Senghor University Rector Professor Thierry Verdel to explore avenues for strengthening educational francophone cooperation, particularly in Africa.
Their discussions focused on supporting French-language education and cultural exchanges, reflecting Romania's commitment as an active Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) member.
They reviewed ways for the embassy and other institutions to collaborate on university projects that provide students with diverse perspectives on further study and career opportunities.
"I had two very intensive days of visiting several key institutions in Alexandria. I came prepared to suggest concrete opportunities for cooperation based on my discussions with various Romanian institutions. I am pleased with the openness I found among all my interlocutors and the pragmatic nature of our meetings," Toderean stated.
She added that the embassy is committed to systematically following up to establish future partnerships between Romanian and Alexandrian higher education institutions, the business community, and at the political and administrative levels.
"I am so impressed by the achievements of this community and the beauty of Alexandria's sea that I intend to keep my promise to return frequently and bring more of Romania through cultural projects to this vibrant and cosmopolitan community," the ambassador said concluding her visit.
