
Ambassador of Egypt to Greece Omar Amer celebrates the 73rd anniversary of the 23rd of July revolution
The event was attended by Egyptian Defence Attaché Colonel Magdy Radwan, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Egyptian Embassy in Greece Counsellor Ahmed El-Ghoul, Greek Minister of Defence Nikos Dendias, Minister of Migration and Asylum Athanasios Plevris, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Haris Theoharis.
Several ministers from the Greek government, senior officials, members of parliament, the diplomatic community, senior business leaders, and members of the Egyptian community were also present.
During his speech, Ambassador Amer congratulated the attendees on the anniversary of the glorious 23 July Revolution, which represents a landmark and significant milestone in the history of modern Egypt.
He said the day is a source of inspiration for national liberation in both Arab and African countries.
Egypt-Greece ties
Ambassador Amer also praised the strong historical relations between Egypt and Greece.
“In recent years, there has been a tangible growth in bilateral ties, as the relations were elevated to strategic ones with many achievements in the fields of energy, immigration, culture, trade, and economy,” he said.
He affirmed that these ties are not limited to the past or the present, but they value the future with its promising possibilities.
Furthermore, he stated that President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's visit to Greece in May marked a new stage in bilateral relations between the two nations.
The launch of the Supreme Council of Cooperation between the two countries will enhance cooperation and add a new dimension to the strategic relations, he stressed.
Ambassador Amer also praised the reopening of the Egyptian Cultural Office in Athens, highlighting its role in connecting Egyptian community members to their homeland, maintaining national identity, and promoting Egyptian culture within Greek society.
