The talks focused on joint promotion, private-sector partnerships, investment opportunities, and improving direct communication channels between companies. Both sides stressed moving beyond diplomatic goodwill toward tangible economic cooperation.

Şen described tourism as “one of the main pillars” for strengthening Egyptian-Turkish economic relations and urged closer coordination between the private sectors of both countries to capitalize on growing regional travel demand. He highlighted the governments’ strong political commitment to expanding trade and economic collaboration.

“Egypt and Türkiye possess diverse and distinctive tourism assets, which makes cooperation and integration more beneficial than competition,” Şen said, according to attendees.

Participants discussed increasing reciprocal tourist flows, enhancing collaboration between tour operators, and exploring joint investments in tourism infrastructure. They also examined ways to facilitate travel procedures, including improved coordination on visas.

Şen said joint tourism promotion campaigns, organized reciprocal trips, and closer engagement between embassies and travel agents could generate “tangible economic returns” for both countries, particularly as regional tourism demand rises. He added that the Turkish embassy in Cairo is prioritizing direct engagement between Egyptian and Turkish businesses and supporting efforts to overcome obstacles to cooperation.

Several Egyptian tourism leaders attended the meeting, including Reem Fawzy, board member of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation and chairperson of Remo Tours Holding and Pink Taxi; MP Atef Aaglan, chairman of Aaglan Holding Group; Moataz Sedky, general manager of Travco Holidays; and Wael Fouda, board member of the Egyptian Tourism Chambers Federation and Kimidar Tours.

Other participants included Sayed Kamal Askar, board member of Lotus Tours; Nour El-Din Radi, managing director of Remo Tours Holding; and Melissa Tunger, manager of the company’s Türkiye branch.

Tourism officials said the sector could serve as a model for broader Egyptian-Turkish economic cooperation, citing accumulated expertise on both sides and sustained international interest in Middle Eastern destinations. Egypt’s tourism industry is a major contributor to foreign currency inflows and employment, while Türkiye ranks among the world’s most visited countries, creating opportunities for complementary tourism products and coordinated marketing strategies.
