The day aimed to showcase the richness of Indonesian culture and strengthen civilizational ties between the two friendly nations.

In his opening remarks, Muhammad Zaim Al-Khalis, deputy chief of mission of the embassy of Indonesia in Cairo, emphasized that the event was not merely a cultural celebration, but also a civilizational bridge reflecting the depth of historical relations and the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
He noted that Indonesia–Egypt relations have witnessed remarkable progress, particularly following the signing of the Joint Statement on Strategic Partnership by President Prabowo Subianto of Indonesia and President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt in Cairo in April 2025.
Al-Khalis also highlighted the positive development of economic relations between the two countries, noting that bilateral trade between Indonesia and Egypt exceeded $2 billion in 2025 for the first time in the history of bilateral relations.
He further expressed Indonesia’s aspiration to expand economic and investment cooperation in sectors such as halal food industries, renewable energy, tourism, logistics, and the digital economy.
Several Egyptian officials, representatives of cultural institutions, diplomats, media figures, partners of the Indonesian embassy, and members of the Indonesian community in Cairo attended the event.
