The programme, titled “Meeting with Palestinian and Egyptian Families,” was organized by the Turkish embassy in Cairo with the embassy of Palestine in Cairo and held at the Turkish ambassador’s residence in Giza.

The event brought together 200 Gazan families and 50 Egyptian families, for a total of 250 families. Food and cash assistance were provided to the families with contributions from the Turkish Presidency of Religious Affairs and the Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi Foundation.
The event also commemorated Palestinian Ambassador Diab Alloh, who recently passed away following a sudden illness.
Egyptian national football team head coach Hossam Hassan attended the event, along with a large number of Egyptian media professionals, social media content creators, and invited guests.
During the event, Turkey’s ambassador to Egypt, Salih Mutlu Şen, praised Hassan’s achievements at the World Cup, saying the Egyptian national team had been able to control possession and play without fear against the world champions.

Mutlu Şen also praised Hassan's sincere support for the Palestinian cause, stressing that his stance reflected the feelings Egyptians hold in their hearts towards the Palestinian people.
The ambassador presented Hassan with an honorary shield in recognition of his supportive position towards the Palestinian people and his performance.
In his remarks, Mutlu Şen stressed Turkey’s determination to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, protect the lives of the Palestinian people, and establish peace in the region through a permanent ceasefire.
The ambassador highlighted Turkey’s important role in the peace plan signed in Sharm El-Sheikh, saying that Turkey was making intensive efforts in the ongoing negotiations in Egypt to implement the Gaza peace plan and establish lasting peace in the region.
He said Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar were working in close coordination to advance the Gaza peace plan.

Mutlu Şen expressed Turkey’s deep concern over the harsh humanitarian conditions faced by the Palestinian people, stressing that Turkey's position on the Israeli occupation was clear and that Israel must withdraw from Gaza in accordance with the plan.
He reaffirmed that Turkey would continue defending the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and would not allow the displacement of Gaza's residents.
According to Mutlu Şen, the displacement plan was still being implemented in a "malicious" manner through the continuation of harsh living conditions in Gaza, requiring vigilance against such efforts.
He said displacement was a red line for Turkey, as it was for Egypt, and that the entire world must stand against it.
“Turkey is working side by side and in close coordination with Egypt to end the massacres and injustices committed against the Palestinian people, prevent the people of Gaza from suffering further, ensure the withdrawal of Israeli forces, deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, and begin the reconstruction process,” he stated.
The ambassador said coordination efforts by Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar were continuing to facilitate the transition to the second phase of the Gaza peace process, ensure that Israel fulfilled its obligations under the first phase, and intensify pressure on the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to withdraw from Gaza in accordance with the 15-point roadmap approved for the second phase.
He also highlighted Egypt's important role in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
“Egypt had opened its doors to tens of thousands of wounded Gazans, adding that more than 100,000 Gazans were currently residing temporarily in the country,” he noted.
The ambassador added that the Egyptian Red Crescent and other Egyptian civil society organizations had also been delivering comprehensive humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
“Thanks to the facilitation and cooperation extended by the Egyptian authorities, Turkey had become one of the countries providing the largest volume of humanitarian aid to Gaza among third countries,” he expressed.
To ensure that these efforts continued with the support and cooperation of the Egyptian authorities, Mutlu Şen disclosed that he had visited Al-Arish and the Rafah border crossing over the previous two days together with Turkish Red Crescent President Fatma Meriç Yılmaz, where they reviewed efforts to accelerate humanitarian operations.
The ambassador affirmed that Turkey’s humanitarian efforts would continue with contributions from Turkish civil society organizations and the Turkish community in Egypt.
Concluding his remarks, Mutlu Şen stressed the importance of solidarity with the Palestinian people, ending his message with the words: “Long live Turkey, long live Egypt, long live Palestine.”
