As Paris fashion week (PFW) almost wraps up, the fashion world is buzzing about the latest trends set for the next spring and summer seasons.

PFW is part of four fashion weeks that take place on a semi-annual basis every year, the first of which takes place in New York, followed by London, then Milan, and finally, Paris.

The event is a highlight for the trends and what is fashionable for upcoming seasons of spring and summer.

This year, one of the main highlights no doubt was the Dior show, dubbed as 'a link between the 18th century& the future", where the white color had the upper hand.

The designer behind the collection Raf Simons, credited with adding a touch of color and modernity to the creations.

Nina Ricci's collections featured slit leather pencil skirts, slim crepe designs and fine dresses made from lace and silk.

One of the much talked about shows was that of John Paul Gaultier, in which the acclaimed designer showed his final collection of ready- to- wear pieces.

Gautier announced that he will focus now on Haute couture and perfume business.

As for Balmain, the inspiration was "the power of social media". The house featured mainly semi transparent and sheer fabrics of dresses and tops, which came mainly in checkered black and white.

Balenciaga's catwalk also featured narrow pencil skirts with diamonds on the hip, t-shirt dresses, and sleek gowns flowing to the ground.

Belgian designer Dries Van Noten was a big sensation with its collection of multi colored cropped tops, silk white pants, and flowing dresses inspired by nature and " a midsummer night dream'

Chloe struck a romantic cord with the audience, featuring short, embroided, and pleated dresses and tops, while Celine creations made a big statement in sleek dresses with empty spaces showing the back and the midriff.

One of the iconic runways was that of Issey Miyake, featuring designs that gave a3D effect created by creases in the garments, along with wide flowing skirts and pants.
