Kate Moss officially takes over as Mango’s newest face for the coming 2012 season, which was revealed on 24 January in London. Moss takes the baton on the Mango whirlwind from Brazilian model, Isabeli Fontana.
The highly popular women's retail store chose the British model because she embodies "the type of urban, independent and confident woman."
The Mango label created their collection to, in their words “play with the visual contrasts and rely on clean, deconstructed lines.”
With the word destructurado (deconstructed) coming in hard into Spanish vocabulary and applying to every sphere, even gastronomy, everything can now be reduced to the mere idea of what it is: un-doing traditional formalities and giving way to flexible interpretations.
The collection that Moss models very much follows the major season’s trends: a general undercurrent of staple colours, in this case black, white, shades of beige, but with an occasional flare of red, or a striking rose, orange, emerald or yellow.
