The Miss Elegant title for 2022 was given to Jodie Rahim, first runner-up to Yara Ashraf, and second runner-up Habiba Mohamed.
The third runner-up was Nourhan Mohamed and the fourth was Mariam Amin. Miss Elegant Tourism was given to Heba Youssef.
“Around 850 girls applied for the competition this year. Only 150 were accepted. The qualification period lasted for three months. Thirty-five girls reached the semi final. Eleven gorgeous queens competed in the final qualifications,” Mahmoud Nagah, president of Miss Elegant International Beauty Contest, told Ahram Online.
Rahim defeated five other contestants in the final round to win the title. At the finale, she charmed the audience with her words and answers to the jury's questions. She dazzled the stage with her gorgeous black gown and look.
The organisers explained that there are regulations like any other international beauty pageant with regards to age, education, body weight, height, character, and knowledge. The age of the contestants is from 17 to 28 years old. The competition covers all Egyptian governorates.
“There are two main conditions in the competition. Each contestant must have an effective role in society. Each applicant presents two projects. A project promoting Egyptian tourism and a project that contributes to community development, such as charity, cultural work and community service. Otherwise, the title will be withdrawn from [the contestant],” he added.
“The administration of the competition will follow up with all the title winners to make sure they apply their ideas in all their projects,” Nagah says.
The jury panel for the coronation of Miss Elegant International included Nagah, super star singer Marwa Nagy, etiquette expert Eman Afifi, life coach Tamer Shalabi, and fashion designer Amira Quzamel.
“Beauty queens must be cultivated, honest, humble, open-minded, and polite in dealing with others. This is an integral element of selection along with beauty factors,” Afifi says.
“This is the third season for me in the competition. Last year, it was difficult due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year, I gave a lot of training for the contestants to master persistence, patience, acceptance, and stay poised even if they do not win the title,” Shalabi adds.
Miss Elegant International is a beauty pageant based in Egypt and is owned by Miss Elegant Company. It is officially registered with the Ministry of Culture and certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It aims to implement cultural exchange and promote tourism in Egypt.
