Egyptian authorities seize collection of ancient manuscripts at Cairo Int'l Airport

Authorities at Cairo International Airport seized a collection of manuscripts from different ages, an Ottoman coining die and two papyri from a passenger.

The objects will be handed over to the Supreme council of Antiquities according to the Antiquities Protection Law number 117 of the year 1983, head of the Archaeological Units in Egyptian Ports Hamdy Hamam said.

The objects include 13 manuscripts of Islamic jurisprudence, spiritual medicine of Bishop Michael, Bishop of Atrib, a manuscript of the Great Fasting Prayers written in Coptic and Arabic and supplications beginning with the names of Prophet Muhammad.
