To encourage Egyptians to visit more archaeological sites and museums and promote tourism, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled El-Enany decided to offer Egyptian visitors half-price tickets to visit archaeological sites and museums during the mid-year vacation.

Mostafa Waziri, secretary-general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), explained that the 50 per cent discount is offered to Egyptian adults, with tickets now equal in price to those of students.

He pointed out that the SCA had previously decided to offer free tickets to public schools’ primary and preparatory stage pupils as well as retired Egyptians and families of martyrs.
