Performed at Cairo's All Saint's Cathedral, 17 June marked the first of two evenings during which Egyptian audiences were for the first time able to listen to the Great Mass (Große Messe) in C minor (K. 427/417a).
With Nayer Nagui conducting, the evening featured the Cairo Celebration Choir (CCC), soloists -- sopranos Dima Bawab and Dina Iskander, tenor Hisham Elguindy, and bass baritone Reda Elwakil -- and an orchestra that incorporated members of both the Cairo Opera and the Cairo Symphony orchestras.
A second evening of Mozart's work took place on 18 June at the Basilique Cathédrale in Heliopolis.
