PHOTO GALLERY: 'Scan Pyramids' identifies thermal anomalies at King Khufu’s Great Pyramid

A team of researchers has teamed up with the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities for a project called "Scan Pyramids" which will use methods such as infrared thermography to scan and map the pyramids of Giza and Dahshur.

Egypt's Antiquities Ministry says a scanning project in the Giza pyramids has identified thermal anomalies, including one in the largest pyramid, built by Cheops, known locally as Khufu.
